Last week, the Senate passed the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, and President Trump signed it into law. The act contains several provisions that significantly impact employers with fewer than 500 employees. If this applies to your organization, you are obligated to comply with the Act no later than April 2, 2020. Additionally, you are required to post a notice informing your employees of their rights under the new law by March 25, 2020. The Department of Labor recently published the required notice for employers’ usage, which can be found here:

The notice must be posted in a conspicuous place on your premises where your employees can see it. You may also satisfy this requirement by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees or posting the notice on an employee information internal or external website. Although you are not required to post this notice in multiple languages, the Department of Labor is working to translate the notice into other languages.
