Manier & Herod attorneys had strong participation at the American Bar Association, Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section, Fidelity and Surety Law Committee’s Mid-Winter Meeting held in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 18-20, 2017. John Gillum Co-Chaired the Construction Program – From the FAR to False Claims: A Guide to Federal Contracting for Construction & Surety Practitioners, during which surety and construction professionals provided guidance on the various challenges encountered on federal construction projects. Jarrod W. Stone presented on the topic Federal Acquisitions Regulations 101 during the Construction Program. The Surety Program, entitled Bonding Without Borders – Suretyship in the Global Economy of the 21st Century, discussed the implications and impact of the recent global expansion of surety bonding. Patricia Till presented on the topic Bonding in Europe, Asia and the Middle East during the Surety Program, and Sam H. Poteet, Jr. and Melissa Jane Lee presented on the topic Handling Surety Claims in a Global Economy. As the current Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section Chair, Mr. Poteet also provided welcoming remarks prior to the programming.
