In September of 2022, Scott Williams and industry colleague, Gina Lockwood, founded Surety School, whose mission is to develop new professionals in the surety industry though education, mentorship, collaboration, and the creation of opportunities. The program is designed to have industry leaders teach newer professionals in small, round-table settings to encourage discussion and connection to the subject matter and industry as a whole. Scott and Gina debuted the first Surety School program in the Fall of 2022, at the Sparkman Winery in Woodinville, WA in conjunction with the Pearlman Conference. Demand for continued programming was so high that Scott and Gina recently held a second Surety School program in June of 2023, at the Hyatt Regency Resort in Cambridge, MD, in conjunction with the Surety Claims Institute’s Annual Meeting. Surety School will travel back to Woodinville, WA in September of 2023, to host another program in conjunction with the Pearlman’s annual meeting.
